Betsy King, Recipient of the President Award for 2008

Betsy King, the recipient of the SLA Florida and Caribbean Chapter’s President Award for 2008, is the solo librarian at CAE USA, a subsidiary of a Montreal-based company that designs and manufactures flight simulation and training products. Originally from Columbus, OH, Betsy earned a B.A. in Physics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and an M.L.S. from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Betsy has been a member of SLA since her first solo librarian job in 1980 at Honeywell in Tampa, Florida. She also is a member of the Engineering Division, the Aerospace Section, and Solo Division of the national organization. Betsy has been a tremendous asset for the Florida chapter, serving as the Chapter Treasurer for more than ten years.
